My name is Frank Reemer.
I studied Japanese Language & Culture at University of Leiden (the Netherlands), specializing in Japanese Buddhism. Apart from Japan, I spent a lot of time in other parts of Asia, notably India, China and Tibet.
Since 1982 I have practiced different forms of budo. My first experience with koryu budo was in 1999, when I started training in Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu under Erik Louw sensei. In 2015 I started teaching a training group in Utrecht in the line of Sugino Yukihiro.
In 2014 I took up Kukamishin-ryu (formerly known as Kukishinden Tenshin Hyoho) under Takatsuka Eichoku shihanke and Stefan de Schrijver shihan. In 2016 I received mokuroku in this tradition, and in 2019 Chugokui.
